WHO WE ARE
ABOUT US
As the women of Upward Call Church, we are passionate about Jesus. Our aim in life is to see Him glorified. We live our lives for the sake of our King and His Kingdom. We believe that Jesus died so that we could live free! Galatians 5:1 says this, "It was for freedom's sake that Christ has set you free. Therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to any yoke of bondage." We were created to live in intimate relationship with Jesus every day, to abide in Him. We recognize that our lives are not our own. We were bought with a price and we no longer live for ourselves but for Him. Jesus is everything to us. And seeing Him glorified is the desire of our hearts.

2016
Upward Call Church planted
Five:1 Women's ministry began
Before planting Upward Call Church in 2016, we knew the Lord wanted to something unique with the women of this church. Even before we were in Chino, the Lord was speaking about what He wanted Five:1to look like. We began praying and seeking His face for Five:1, for what He wanted to build here, and for you. He said that this would be a thing of beauty, healing, restoration, relationship and redemption. We had our first Five:1 meeting in August of 2016!
2017 - 2018
Five:1 Meetings
First Women's Conference - Beloved - Newport Beach, CA
During the first few years as a church we meet regularly for Five:1. We studied the book of Esther together, then Ruth as well as others. We grew in our relationship with the Lord and with each other. In April of 2018 we held our first women's conference - Beloved. Jesus moved in mighty ways - setting people free, bringing redemption and speaking life over His daughters.
2019
Five:1 Meetings
Beloved - Lake Arrowhead, CA
The Lord continues to be gracious to us through the years. He continually drew us closer to Him, beckoning us to come and abide in Him. We dug deep into the Word and as we did, He met us. In the spring of 2019 we held our second "Beloved" in Lake Arrowhead. We were undone in His presence, overwhelmed by His faithfulness and the way He provided.
2020 -2021
Weekly Bible Study online
As you know, 2020 brought many challenges. Things that could be shaken were shaken, but the Lord remained steadfast, unchanging, our Rock and Redeemer. Throughout the year we hosted Bible Studies online every week. We went through Paul's letters - Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians and Colossians. We are so grateful for the way He carried us through these seasons.
2022
Beloved -
Newport Beach, CA
In April 2022 we were able to host our third Beloved. Once again, we were back in Newport Beach. What a joy it was to be together again. The Lord did a mighty work in our hearts; reminding us of our identity in Him and that our lives are for His glory.
2023
Beloved - Temecula, CA
Merged churches!
March of 2023 we held Beloved for the fourth time. This time in Temecula, CA. Jesus met with us in such a tender way. He broke chains, set us free, reminded us that our lives are a part of His story. In October we merged with Cornerstone Community Church and God has done and continues to do amazing things through this merge. He brought new life. He answered prayers. He remains faithful to Himself!
2024
First Five:1 Conference
Claremont, CA
April of 2024 we held our first Five:1 Conference. Same heart, same vision, with a slightly different format. We gathered together in Claremont, CA for 3 days and the Lord was faithful to meet with us. Women found freedom and identity in Jesus. He did a deep work in our hearts!
2025
Five:1 Conference
Claremont, CA
Began Midweek Five:1 Meetings
April of 2025 we hosted our second Five:1 Conference in Claremont. The Lord was calling us into the deep with Him. He spoke so clearly about beholding Him, seeing Him rightly, and continuing to lay our lives down for the King.

We also started gathering twice a month as the ladies of Five:1. We dig deep into the word, allowing the Spirit of God to continually transform us and spend time in small groups, building strong relationships with those the Lord has brought into our lives to sharpen us!
"He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together."
